Friends,
A series of powerful and destructive tornadoes have ripped through parts of the central U.S., leaving destruction in its wake. In Missouri, at least three people have been killed, homes and businesses have been destroyed, and rescues are still underway. Tornadoes have also been reported in Oklahoma, Iowa, Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. These tornadoes were part of a series of more than 170 weather events to strike the region in the last week, with the potential for more severe weather in the coming days.
Lutheran Disaster Response is working with those in the impacted states, including local synods, congregations and social ministry organizations, to provide immediate relief and long-term support.
Gifts to Lutheran Disaster Response designated for “U.S. tornadoes” will be used entirely (100%) to help those affected by tornadoes until the response is complete. Together, we can support those who are on the long road to recovery. Please give today.
With gratitude for your partnership in ministry,
The Rev. Daniel Rift
