Midweek Message from Rev. Aaron Baughman: (4/7/21)

A Midweek MessageApril 7, 2021 HAPPY EASTER everyone at St. Paul! I hope that all of you are enjoying the spring weather! As we enter into the season of Easter I pray that you can find a moment to find some humor in your life and laugh a little bit. Remember an empty tomb means no more empty life. In peace, Rev. Aaron Baughman(interim pastor)  MIDWEEK MESSAGE FOR April 7, 2021
”How good and how pleasant it is,  when kindred live together in unity! It is like fine oil upon the head, flowing down upon the beard,  upon the beard of Aaron, flowing down upon the collar of his robe.  “

 – Excerpt from Psalm 133 Our Psalm this week is my favorite: Psalm 133. In fact, this is the Psalm that was read at my ordination and to be completely honest, I picked it because I wanted to see what the Metro New York Bishop would do when he read, ‘it is like fine oil upon the head flowing down upon the bead, upon the beard of Aaron.’ He actually did mention it, in his message, since my name is Aaron and I had a very long beard at the time, it really did give him a smile. I share it with you this week because I have found that laughter makes community. I believe that this passage is all about a good smile and a good laugh. Of course at the time this Psalm was written having oil poured on your head was seen as holy and Aaron was seen as the priest of all priests, so this was a very holy act, but why can’t humor and holy be joined together as one? Can’t you just see the high priest being covered in oil? So much that it drips down his robe? Well, it makes me smile. I hope you are smiling this Easter and if you need some help I encourage you to try something new, one of my favorite activities; laughter yoga. There will be a class taught on May 6 via ZOOM at 7PM at the Bexley Public Library. The link to register for the class is below:https://bexley.libnet.info/event/4839100These are stressful times, I hope that you are able to take a moment this spring and LAUGH! Jesus was resurrected for us all to find the Joy in life, and part of that joy is laughing out loud. Rev Aaron
