Greetings, fellow members! At its monthly meeting on Monday, May 10, your Congregation Council voted to recommend to you, the membership, that we resume the singing of hymns during Sunday services. If approved, this change will become effective on Pentecost Sunday, May 23. Please note that for the time being we will continue to wear masks throughout the service, including during the singing of hymns. You may vote on this proposal in one of three ways:
– By attending service on Sunday, May 16: Along with your bulletin you will receive a ballot asking you to indicate, with a simple “Yes” or “No” response, whether or not you support this proposal.
– Via email: please email jeanine_secretary@sbcglobal.net indicating your preference with “Yes, let’s sing” or “No let’s not sing” or other wording that clearly indicates your preference.
– Via voice message: you may leave a voice message with the church office at (614) 878-4715 indicating your preference for singing or not singing.
All votes will be tabulated by 6:00pm on Saturday, May 22, and the decision will be based on a simple majority of “Yes” or “No” votes. The announcement will be made during Pastor Aaron’s announcements before service on Sunday May 23.
NOTE: On Thursday, May 13, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued policy guidance stating that the wearing of masks, whether outdoors and indoors, is no longer required for people who have been “fully vaccinated” against COVID-19. While this is literally a welcome “breath of fresh air,” state and local governments still have the right to require the wearing of masks and Council will continue to heed the most restrictive policy guidance issued by state, county, or city officials.
Peace & Blessings Pat Sherman President of Council
