We did some research regarding what foods would be okay to put into our Little Barn during the freezing weather. We have been stocking it with dried meals, mac and cheese, dried soups, pasta, cereal, dried milk, dried beans, bagged fruits and nuts, ramen noodles, dried noodle bowls, etc. We are also using the meals being donated in foil packets (such as the beef stew which has been very popular). We also found from our research that things such as peanut butter and jelly are safe to put out in the cold winter as long as they are in plastic jars. We have also been including loaves of bread. The canned goods in the inside storage will be used as soon as weather permits, so don’t stop donating.
The Little Library could use young adult and adult books.
