Also thank you to everyone who delivered them! “And he(Jesus) went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee.  And he was teaching them on the sabbath; and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.
When Jesus was later teaching near where he had been raised, there was authority in what he said.  People who were listening thought the message was from God, that truth was being heard.”
 – An excerpt from Luke 4:31-32
One reason Pastor Bill and now Pastor Aaron have sermons that find a base in Scripture, have sermons inspired by the Bible, is that they mean to transmit that same authority that starts in Jesus, comes from Jesus.  It helps our ministers inspire us often.  It helps our ministers remind us of our weaknesses and our strengths for every day and even for everlasting life.  These truths, revisited often,  aid us who gather at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, to follow, to witness, to help those in need, to share.  And so we grow in certainty, in the right ways, in the right lifestyles, in righteous living that the whole of the scripture proclaimed 2000 years before Christ.  And now we, 2000 years after Christ hear and try to obey the same.  We are part of the wonderful ministry when we listen and also when it is each of our turns to say something.
We are invited, pushed, sometimes demanded to speak with the authority, recognized by listeners in the time of Jesus.  And some of us require a lot of pushing.  But I do not think the Holy Spirit of God gives up wanting each of us to say important things to friends, to family, to those we are acquainted with, and even sometimes to those who are at present unknown to ourselves.
We have overcome our fears of saying good spiritual things, sometimes, when we have asked for help from the One who sends us places where the words are needed.  We should ask for such things simply,

sincerely.
